Women+Power Introduces First Edition of Sponsor Spotlight Series

November 4, 2020 @ 11:30 am 1:00 pm MST

We are so excited to share the first edition of our Sponsor Spotlight Series with you! This series will be a regular feature that will allow us to share highlights about the tangible work that is being done by our valued sponsors. We know that as members of the Women+Power community, you care about creating a culture of diversity and inclusion in Alberta’s power industry. This first edition of our Sponsor Spotlight Series is sure to set the bar high!

Promoting a culture of inclusion and diversity in the workplace requires us to advance mindsets beyond simply accepting differences. Instead, we must strive to cultivate an environment that values and nurtures diversity. There is no doubt that reaching this goal comes with an array of challenges. However, with vision, commitment, and strong leadership at the helm, success is possible.

For evidence of this claim, look no farther than our first guest speaker, Lisa Nadeau, Vice President People & Culture and Customer Experience, at the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO). As a member of the AESO’s senior leadership team, Ms. Nadeau is responsible for leading the strategic integration of existing and emerging AESO priorities, change and transition management, knowledge transfer, internal and external education, and other human resources management accountabilities.

Ms. Nadeau recognizes the intrinsic value that a diverse employee population can bring to an organization. In leading the AESO’s inclusion and diversity efforts, Ms. Nadeau is empowering a culture that fosters a safe, innovative, and productive environment that is driving meaningful outcomes for both the AESO and its employees. In recognition of her exceptional accomplishments, Ms. Nadeau has received numerous awards from Electricity Human Resources Canada including:

  • 2019 Award of Excellence for Leader of the Year
  • 2017 Award of Excellence in Innovative HR Practices
  • 2016 Award of Excellence in Innovative HR Practices

Ms. Nadeau has extensive human resources expertise in strategy development, workforce planning, performance management, and organizational design. She is also experienced in compensation planning and design, employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, change management, and human resources information systems implementation.

To learn more about the benefits of fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity, and to benefit from the experiences of our guest speaker, please join us on November 4, 2020, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.
