Women+Power is a community where women of all levels of experience within Alberta’s power industry can come together to connect, support, empower and recognize each other to achieve our full potential both professionally and personally. By bringing individuals together through this emerging community, our aim is to cultivate an atmosphere of success and strive to overcome the challenges that result from, and in, under-representation of women at all organizational levels.

Currently women represent only one quarter of Alberta’s power industry. Studies have shown that greater diversity in the workplace: 1) Fosters communication and collaboration, 2) breeds innovation, 3) improves decision making, and 4) enhances performance and increases profits.

To keep pace with the growing demands of the power industry, organizations must become consciously inclusive and encourage diversity in the workplace. Our goal is to create a more inclusive and diverse power industry and we invite organizations to become part of the transformational change that is needed to overcome some of the challenges faced by women in the industry.
