Vittoria Bellissimo
President & CEO, Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA)
Vittoria Bellissimo leads CanREA, a national association advocating for the accelerated adoption of wind energy, solar energy, and energy storage in Canada. Prior to this role, she served as Executive Director of the Industrial Power Consumers Association of Alberta and worked in renewable energy procurement with both the Ontario Ministry of Energy and the Ontario Power Authority (now IESO). Vittoria has served on the boards of Emissions Reduction Alberta and Energy Efficiency Alberta, and she is a founding board member of Women+Power. She holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from Queen’s University, an M.Sc. in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh, and is a licensed professional engineer. Vittoria is based in Calgary.

Karen is a respected leader in Alberta’s power sector and the 2024 Young Women in Energy (YWE) Award Winner. She serves as Manager of Operations Systems Data Management at the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO), where she leads a high-performing team responsible for real-time data connections, system modeling, and advanced monitoring tools that support critical real-time market and reliability decisions. Her leadership extends beyond the energy sector, she also serves as President of Ask Her, a volunteer-run non-profit working to increase gender representation in municipal politics.
