Wildfires and the Grid: Reducing Risk and Increasing Resiliency

With wildfires becoming larger and more severe, electric utilities play an important role in mitigating wildfire risk and responding effectively when an event occurs. As the Alberta Wildfire Utility Coalition, AltaLink, ATCO and FortisAlberta are working together on mitigation and response efforts that emphasize public safety, wildfire prevention, resiliency, stakeholder collaboration and responsible investment. This panel discussion will focus on the impact of wildfires on the power industry and work that is being done to ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable and affordable electricity for Albertans.
