Empowering women in Alberta’s
power industry.

CURRENTLY
WOMEN
REPRESENT
ONLY ONE
QUARTER OF
ALBERTA’S POWER
INDUSTRY

Transformational change is needed to create a more inclusive and diverse industry.

Research has shown that diversity in the workforce:

  • Fosters communication and collaboration
  • Breeds innovation
  • Improves decision making
  • Enhances performance and increases profits

To keep pace with the growing demands of the power industry, organizations must become consciously inclusive and encourage diversity in the workplace.

Women+Power is a community developed for women of all levels of experience who work in or with Alberta’s power industry and was established to provide opportunities for members to connect with, support, inspire and recognize women to empower them to achieve their full potential both professionally and personally.

Through the power of community we believe we can work together to address the challenges that result in and from the under-representation of women in the power industry so we can begin to develop opportunities to promote increased diversity and inclusion.

Men working in and with the power industry are encouraged to become a part of our community and will be invited to take part in our initiatives as we work towards transformational change.

Diversity and Inclusion Statement

At Women+Power we are committed to advancing, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging for all individuals because it empowers us both personally and professionally. We believe that diversity will maximize both individual contributions and organizational effectiveness.

In fulfilling the commitments set out in this Statement, Women+Power aims to achieve its goal to create an equitable, diverse, inclusive, and accessible community where all individuals, whatever their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability, feel valued and respected.
